![]() ![]() A Link to the Past is really where it kind of happened for me, and during a move from California to Colorado, we picked it up and I remember playing it on this big CRTV in the RV we had. I think I played the original when I was 7 or 8 and I really didn’t get it. “My history is pretty much I started playing it when I was a kid. There’s an excitement to going in a cave and wondering, ‘Where am I gonna end up this time?’ and, ‘What’s gonna be in this present box here?’ Plus, when it’s all over, you have this urge to go back and open the present boxes all over again.” What exactly is your history with the Zelda series specifically actually? Where’d this all begin? Nintendo kind of went back to them with Breath of the Wild, but there really just hasn’t been anything like them, so Randomizers kind of give me that opportunity to go back to those games I love so much and live them all over again. I’ve played the original Legend of Zelda and A Link to the Past countless times, and there just really hasn’t been games like them. “Just uh… I played a couple of them and enjoyed them. After some mobile developments as well, I decided to go back to game development and part of that was seeing one of these randomizers for Zelda and wondering, ‘What if the overworld was randomized too?’ So I put myself to it and, about 4 months later, I had this out there.” What exactly got you interested in randomizers in the first place? That is really where my web development career took off. As part of that, I developed a website called Develteam, which kind of helps game developers find pieces to their projects. ![]() But I got through it, and afterwards found myself struggling to make my way into game development, so I turned to web development instead. ![]() I went into programming, and subsequently went to school for game development. When I was 5, I played Super Mario for the first time, and it was at that point I kind of knew I wanted to go into game development and made that my focus.
